Help for horses??

A reader has contacted me with a plea for some informtion on how to help some horses in need. If you have any inforation I can share with her please contact me and I will pass it along or post it here in the comments.
My friend has a ranch and several horses that he is feeding. Unfortunately because of illness he has not been able to pay the taxes on his property and therefor has lost the irrigation rights and can not grow hay. He is on disability and ALL of his check has been going to feed the horses. He has come to the point that he is not getting enough to feed all the horses. I have been trying to help him out but I have been unemployed for 4 months. We are in Florence, AZ. Is there any help available???? Thanks
