Success!!!

This afternoon about 2:30 I decided to take my Harley over to check on the stray dog but it started to rain so I had to come back and get the car. I stopped for another hamburger patty for him and
to whoever would listen to please let him be in the cage. A storm is moving in and I didn't want him out in the rain. I couldn't believe my eyes when I pulled to a stop and he was there in the cage!!! I expected him to be frantic after how he was acting but no he was sitting quite calmly. I called my sister as I ran back to my car and pulled it closer. She had to bring the truck to load the cage with him in it cuz it wouldn't fit in my car. We got him to my house and removed two ticks from him and then gave him a bath. He was quite calm during the tick removal. He wasn't crazy about the bath idea but he settled down after a very half hearted struggle. He's timid around us but checking things out and curious about the girls. He's hiding under the train table now and finally eating some kibble.
Someone was looking out for this little guy.
He looks so much like our Sissy!
Thank you for your prayers, finger crossing, chanting or whatever you may have done to help us finally rescue this little boy.
Look there he is!!

Pretty calm:

His little nest right on the edge of the road:

At my house:

What's down there?

A bath?

Okay this isn't THAT bad I guess:

I'm going to just hide back here where it seems safe:

Oh this is pretty nice, definitely better than sleeping in the weeds next to I64.

Since you are giving me treats I'll tolerate the diaper.

Oh comfy bed ya got here:

Look how raw my feet are:

Oh this is awesome!!!

Evening update:
Little boy likes to mark so we were forced to diaper him.
He is really thin, and considering he had a full bag of food all week it's not from being left on the highway. He doesn't know how to walk on a leash and doesn't seem to be comfortable being touched. He's still very scared of us but some treats helped. We walked him and he was really nervous. Cars, kids and barking dogs scared him. The last block we had to carry him back to the house. We took Bailey along to help him and that did help some. He lets us pet him but we have to corner him first and he doesn't seem to really enjoy it. He just sits there. He's very interested in the girls but they aren't ready to play. He acted like he wanted to get in the crate with them. While I type he is asleep on the bed with me. He let me put him up here and I rubbed his head a little then he laid down. He is exhausted I'm sure.
I'm so glad we have tomorrow off! Misty and I will spend more time with him tomorrow before we take him to Teresa's house. Her 17 y/o daughter arrives soon and is excited to have a dog again. She loves animals so I think she will be able to work with him.
It's been a great day :)
