Why does Santa torment the fat kids?

Poor fattie Chase has discovered the package under the tree that contains the doggie treats. He will now be on a constant vigil, watching unblinkingly in the hope the package will fall apart under his intense gaze. He went through this last year, nearly going crazy. Why oh why does Santa tease the poor little guy? He must get a laugh out of watching poor Chase on the treadmill every night.
